For my live tweet, I decided to do the Purdue basketball game against Florida State. I chose this because I have been a Purdue basketball fan since I was a young girl and started attending the games. Being from Lafayette, Indiana, it was hard not to be a boilermaker. From my tweets, it is very apparent that I am a huge fan and have spent a lot of time in Mackey Arena.
I have never live-tweeted before, nor do I use Twitter very often, so getting the chance to do this taught me a lot. I learned how to follow a game very in-depth so that I would not miss any important information, I learned how to display my excitement through a tweet, and I discovered more about the app. I did not know how much sports teams used their Twitter to update the game until I followed along and retweeted some of the basketball teams’ tweets.
Through what I’ve learned, I hope to be able to live-tweet more games and improve my process as I do. I also hope to use Twitter more in many other ways, like following other sports games, updating my feed, communicating with other pages, and interacting with the content. Overall, I am very pleased with the results of my tweets and the results of the game.
